Anime stuff

Uh, oops? I was supposed to watch Mushishi during the month of April, but I kinda forgot? :D; I mean, since I'm rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender, have started watching Game of Thrones (on top of my other regular live action shows), and have now started watching a couple new anime series....I'm not exactly lacking in things to watch now? So uh...I guess I'll just get to watching either Mushishi or Fantastic Children whenever I feel like it? :D; SO MUCH FOR THAT SCHEDULE LOL.

Quick overview of Winter Anime Season 2011: I watched about half of Fractale while at Kirsten's house, and it was...okay. Didn't match all the hype, and it didn't interest me enough to make me watch the rest of it. And as I wrote on Twitter, I watched all of Puella Magi Madoka Magica and LOVED IT. I feel like it's been such a long time since I got so excited and emotional watching a new anime, so that felt good. :)

And now, what I'm watching from Spring Anime Season 2011:

TIGER & BUNNY (5 episodes watched)

Not the greatest thing ever (especially from an artistic standpoint), but so far it's been really fun and enjoyable to watch. :D Kotetsu is a great protagonist; he's simply adorkable and I love him. I also love Sky High, who I expected to hate at first, but he's such a goof and so earnest and hilarious that I soon found it impossible. THESE ARE BOTH GROWN MEN BTW. I'm also fond of the hero who's a weeaboo, he cracks me up too.
But um yeah, basically: Superheroes! Fighting crime on reality TV! With sponsors and blatant advertising! HIJINKS ENSUE.

Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (3 episodes watched)

Such a friggin long title. D: Anyway, Kirsten urged me to watch this, and I'm really glad she did. To be honest, it had me crying from the very first episode. It struck so close to home in so many ways. I'm not a hikikomori, but I'm close enough to being one that I could really sympathize with the protagonist. And it made me think back to my group of friends from 4th-6th grade; back then, I used to be one of the "cool kids," and I loved them so much I convinced mom to move into a house that would be closer to them. Of course, as soon as we did that, nearly all of them moved away...... And years later, when I'm in college, I'd find some of them on Facebook again, but they've all changed so much, have become such different people that I wouldn't even know how to begin talking to them again. In fact, my life has pretty much been an endless cycle of losing friends and struggling to make new ones, so this anime just struck such a personal chord with me.
Also, lol @ "Nokemon." Oh god, that episode, with the flashbacks to the kids playing and trading together...this show just seems to take every opportunity to beat me over the head with nostalgia. ;___; Excuse me, gonna go sniffle in a corner now.....

I also watched the first episode of Deadman Wonderland, and while it was good, I think I'll limit myself to two shows for now. And really, these two shows are enough to sustain my needs anyway. A show to make me laugh and a show to make me cry. I'd say that's a good balance.
