Concerning colleges...

I'm trying to make a decision here as to which college would better suit my needs and goals. I'd appreciate it anyone gives me their opinion, though if not, that's fine because this is also to help organize my thoughts.
So far I've been admitted to Christopher Newport University and George Mason University. I also applied to James Madison, but I haven't heard back from them yet and don't really care because that's my least favorite of the three.

CNU is very new, and relatively small in a suburban town in Southern Virginia known as Newport News. It takes a few hours of driving just to get there from home. The class sizes are small (which would probably be better with my kind of personality), and it's residence quarters are CLEAN and BEAUTIFUL. They actually have a Writing Major there, and apparently a very good Creative Writing program. They also have an anime club (SCORE!). However, like I said, Southern Virginia. No offense to anyone who might live there, but the South scares me. It's around the Williamsburg area, and unfortunately I'm not a big fan of colonial history so any tourist spots are pretty blah for me. Other than that, there's not much to do or see. And their mascot is creepy.

GMU is rather old, and very large in a fast-paced city in Northern Virginia, near DC. It's close enough that I could commute there (if I learn to drive). The class sizes are large, and there's a chance that I'll be taking many lecture hall sized classes (ugh, not my kinda thing). The residence quarters, if I choose to stay there, are NOT pretty at all. They only have a Writing Minor, not a Major, so if I go there I'll probably have an Anthropology Major instead. They also have a very well known and popular anime club (SCORE!). It's close to DC, so a large number of museums, activities, and job opportunities are open to me. And it's pretty hard to get in there in the first place, because the competition is extremely high around where I live (I'm pretty sure the majority of my class applied there). It's very prestigious- BUT, none of the careers I am interested in requires prestige, and honestly I don't care much for it either.

OR I could go into the military because that's what my mom's threatening these days, though of course that would disrupt everything that I've been planning for my future and literally ruin my life.
Any advice?

EDIT: You know on second thought, wherever I go I'll probably be living there, because mom and I can't stand each other anymore and I need to get some life experience. So suddenly the state of the residence quarters are very important to me. -__-; As well as what I can do around there.
