I mean, if I could draw, I would draw. But I can only write, so I work with what I've got. But it still doesn't make much sense to me because before captainosaka started Double K, back when the guys on /m/ were still throwing around ideas for Garhalla Vice, there was talk of what format it would be in, and some people were suggesting an illustrated fanfic. And no one had a problem with that.
So really, what is the difference? captainosaka took peoples' ideas and made them into reality with his own personal take on the concept. That's exactly what I'm doing. In fact, I got a lot of my ideas from people on /m/ whining about not getting GARlock and what their expectations had been.
I dunno, it just feels like I'm being shunned by half of my target audience.
(On a related note, whoever did this made my day. XD I was laughing for like five minutes straight.)
EDIT: Speaking of fanfiction, I mind as well recommend some. While the GL section at FF.net is in a rather sorry state overall, I have found a couple of gems mixed in.
Glitter & Trauma
AU, with post-timeskip Kamina, and all the problems that would ensue from that scenario. While I'm not into Kamina/Simon, I'm willing to tolerate it because this fic has a lot of potential. I'm kind of jealous because I find it hard to get into Kamina's head, while this person makes it look easy. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in almost a year...
A one shot, taking place after the series. Viral deals with immortality. I won't say anything more to keep from spoiling it, but this makes me teary-eyed every time I read it and I can totally see it happening.
