More fic rambling

This is pretty awesome.

So I got stuck again when I realized that I wasn't sure what to call certain areas of the interior of a space battleship. I don't read sci-fi all that much, especially not involving space battles (only one that comes to mind is Ender's Game, honestly), and just looking at designs for the Chouginga Dai-Gurren in the Final Drill mook wasn't enough. So I did some googling and found that video, which turned out to be perfect. :D I've also been looking at stuff like this and reading up more on Space Battleship Yamato in general.

Oh, and this fanart makes me SO DAMN HAPPY. I just love the look on his face. XD

On an unrelated note, Anime Club had a mecha-themed marathon today, and it turned out pretty well. We watched some of Giant Robo, Escaflowne, Diebuster, and all of Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid- which was quite excellent, btw. Kyoto Animation needs to be making more of that kind of stuff instead of adapting moe visual novels. But only after they do Haruhi Season 2.

EDIT: I was going through some old posts on the Animesuki forums, and came across this. So I just looked at the storyboard for the first episode, and...the kanji is 次元大瀑布. So that settles it. It's not Great Dimensional Government, it's GREAT DIMENSIONAL WATERFALL. I am so going to use that now!
