Kittan is the star of this episode without a doubt. Also, I keep being reminded of the movie Deep Impact in this arc. Though the damage caused by a huge asteroid and the moon are very different in scale... Things just keep getting more intense!
-PRISON FIGHT! My favorite scene in the episode. Because I have to admit that I love it whenever Simon gets pissed off. XD And this was a good way for him to release his anger and frustration.
All Viral had to do to insult him was point out the truth of the situation. "You've lost the Gurren Lagann, you've lost your woman, you've lost your companions, and now that you've returned to being just a naked monkey, you can't even protect your own life?" D:
But I'm actually surprised at how well Simon did in the fight. I wasn't expecting him to know anything about hand-to-hand combat, but he managed to dodge chicken-man's attacks and didn't get totally pwned by Viral. He's not on the level that Kamina was, but he did better than I expected; he looks so scrawny. XD
And Viral is still badass. IMMORTAL BADASS WITH HONOR. ♥
-Kittan!!!! I loved him so much in this episode. Taking on an Anti-Spiral with only a SHOTGUN to protect his family?! *SWOON* And then he got back his Ganmen! And then he went to take back the Core Drill so they could finally do things the Gurren-dan way. *___*
-Rossiu is beyond stressed. Look at those bags under his eyes! He's really feeling the weight of responsibility of being a leader now, as he's forced to leave the majority of the human race to their deaths so he could save as many as he can. His plan is failing. Regrets piling on regrets... I'm so glad he gave back the Core Drill though!!
-Hmmm. If the Arc Gurren requires Spiral Power to move, and Simon's Spiral Power is greater than Lord Genome's, then just what AWESOME stuff could he do with it once he finally gets his hands on the thing?! >D
-I just have to laugh at the fact that the old Ganmen are more effective at fighting the Mugan than the Grapals (because that's what they were MADE for), contradicting what Kinon said in episode 17. XD
-Nia keeps coming to Simon personally to give him news. Since she's the Messenger, shouldn't it make more sense for her to go to Rossiu, since he's in charge? In the Anti-Spiral's eyes, Simon is a nobody now, left to die like the rest of humanity. And yet she keeps coming to him. And she keeps giving him information. And she's still wearing the ring! My conclusion is that despite becoming an Anti-Spiral, she can't forget about him, and that deep inside she still wants him to WIN.
-Yoko is back!!! I'm loving how mature she looks! :D And it seems she's come to bust Simon out of jail! However.....she shot at Nia. D: (Now, I didn't mind her shooting Nia's hair the first time because I thought Nia with short hair was adorable. However, short hair would not fit with Evil!Nia's image and I don't think Evil!Nia would care about cutting her hair properly anyway. "Yoko-san, I have a request. Please cut my hair for me before the moon falls on the earth and kills you all. ♥")
Darker than BLACK Episode 19:
Huang backstory AND Evening Primrose?! TWO FOR ONE! *___*
-Huang used to be a cop! He's Japanese! And woah, he was a pretty nice guy too! :O
-I thought the scene where those ladies came to Hei's apartment was hilarious. Especially Hei's reactions. XDD
-This episode really made me like Huang more and made his attitude more understandable. He didn't even have a choice in joining the Organization, did he? D: And then it turns out it's the same Organization Shihoko was working for! How's that for irony? DD:
-This time it's Huang's fault that they messed up their mission! All because he was still interested in what Shihoko was up to. Hei notices that he's been acting oddly this time too. And now Shihoko is captured by EPR! WHAT WILL YOU DO, HUANG?
And in general, GOOD EPISODE! Now that all of the main characters have their own arcs, there should be nothing but plot-related content coming up yay! I'm also glad because the song I chose for Huang for my FST based off what little I knew about him before actually does fit him quite well. :D
