I've been trying to translate some of it. Of course, the Mushishi manga doesn't have furigana so there are some gaps until I ask my mom to read it to me. But it's helping me improve my kanji; I can read a lot more than I thought I would be able to.
Also, Mushishi uses some archaic words that aren't used in modern Japanese- like it took me some time to realize that "ikazuchi" has the same meaning as "kaminari" (lightning) or that "odoro" means "toge" (thorn). It's hard to look the kanji up in my dictionary because those words aren't even in there... It's really interesting.
