Return of the awesome cover

I'm sorry Kamina, but HELL YES.

While I'm glad that I will be double-dipping, I'm starting to consider keeping these sets even after I've gotten the singles. Like if I wanted to introduce someone to the show, it'd be much easier handing them a DVD with nine episodes instead of just four or five, you know?

And, uh, so this post won't just be about DVDs, WTF there's going to be a campus AU manga.

EDIT: But you know...the second volume Yoko cover is really gonna stick out now. They should have just used the Simon/Nia cover like I wanted them to, at least for consistency with having Simon there. [/pointless griping]

Re: Slayers Revolution Episode 4

Am I the only one who really likes Pokota so far? He's such a brat. XD And I figured out why I like his voice so much- he has the same seiyuu as Azuma Kazuma from Yakitate!! Japan!

Also, Amelia + Pokota = CUUUUUUTE. I honestly kinda wanted to see her adopt him with Zelgadis. XD

And Lina & Gourry reminded me too much of Team Rocket in this episode. It doesn't help that Megumi Hayashibara voices Musashi in Pokemon too.

Now while I still find the show very entertaining (aside from episode 3, where the jokes were getting old, though Gourry's new jellyfish friend made up for that), I just wish there would be some kind of plot soon. But the next episode looks like it might be heading in that direction. XELLOS~!

EDIT: Yaaay, I just got a shipping confirmation for the second Gurren Lagann DVD. Looks like I'll be getting it early again~

Re: X-Files The Movie

My non-spoilery review: Screw the critics, I LIKED IT.

The story was a fairly typical x-file. Nothing too over-the-top, especially compared to the first movie. But it still made me squirm in my seat and we were scared walking back through the dark parking lot, so it did what it was supposed to do.

But really, this was a fanservice movie. If you already love the characters, then I can pretty much guarantee you will walk away satisfied. I know there were a couple of scenes that made me cheer inwardly. :)

In other news, I've decided that I will go see The Mummy 3 next week. Mostly because I finally bought the first movie on DVD a while ago and it came with a free movie ticket. So why not, right? Also, I forgot to mention that I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth a couple of weeks ago- which was entertaining, though utterly unmemorable. But it's always fun to see Brendan Frasier screaming and hitting things, and ultimately that's enough to make me happy.
