Teh Horror!

Watching anime: Some new, some slightly old

I didn't have anything to do today after classes, so I just watched anime. I checked out two new ones- Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and Toward the Terra.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Episodes 1-5:

HAHAHAHA. This is MESSED UP. I love it. XD Nothing like killing off your main characters in horrifyingly gruesome ways in the fourth episode and then bringing them back to life in the next like none of it ever happened. I assume all the story arcs are like this? That's hilarious. And the sudden switches in tone from cutesy and lighthearted to seriously scary and downright freaky, then back to cute again....it's great. XD

Toward the Terra Episodes 1-4:

Hmmm, this is a pretty good scifi series. I think at this point I'm more impressed with the presentation than the story, because while watching I was like "OMG EPIC" but thinking back on it now, it doesn't stand out too much compared with other scifi stories. But it's too early to judge it yet because these episodes were just setting things up. Though I'd like to note that I really don't mind the style at all; the character designs used in Gundam Seed and Code Geass, for example, annoy me more than the 'retro' look used here.

BACCANO! Episode 6:

Don't have much to say here, because I've already spoiled myself on the identity of the Rail Tracer among other things. D: Still enjoying it though! I heart Jacuzzi and co. still. ♥ Ennis was also pretty cute and awesome in this episode. We get more pieces of the puzzle to make sense of the events in the previous episodes. And I suppose what happened at the end means Dallas becomes immortal too? Next episode seems to have a flashback in the 1700's yay!

I've got a lot to say about Ep. 23 of Darker than BLACK, so I'll make that into a separate post later. And randomly, I'm amused how this thread has gone so off topic that we're just talking about food now. XD

GL TIME

Oh man, I'm kinda afraid of watching this episode.....someone's gonna die, I just know it.

On the other hand, there will probably be more MECHA ASSKICKING to look forward to. Hopefully. .....

*rewatches episode 24 to pass the time* ;__;

Also, this is unrelated, but episode 10 of Mononoke was OMG AWESOME. I NEED MORE. MODERN ERA BAKENEKO FTW. MEDICINE SELLER IS THE EPITOME OF COOL.

EDIT: Must...resist...clicking...on spoilers... x__x
HELL YEAH

Re: Gurren Lagann Episode 25

I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, I LOVED THIS EPISODE.

THAT WAS BEYOND EPIC.

FUCK YEAH, KITTAN, FUCK YEAH.

THE MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

ALSO BOOTA NEEDS HIS OWN EYECATCH.

*more thoughts to follow once I've calmed down*

EDIT: *takes a closer look at the next episode preview* .....Huh????????? I'm confused. O.O

EDIT 2: I want to post my favorite lines but I think I'd end up translating half the episode. Maybe I'll do it anyway.

EDIT 3: GODDAMMIT I had been translating all of my favorite scenes and was just about finished when the COMPUTER SHUT OFF SUDDENLY AND I LOST ALL OF IT. DD< I still remember little bits and pieces....so I'll just quote what I remember in discussions instead. >/
