I watched Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, and I must say I'm not very impressed. Maybe it's partly because the dub was so bad, but I found I couldn't take it very seriously. I don't see why people like it so much (currently it's competing with FMA for most popular anime on air in Japan), but then again I've never had any interest in the giant robot genre.
I was completely lost throughout the episode. There were awhole lot of politics and unfamiliar terms. And I know they're in space and everything, but I just couldn't get used to the characters floating around everywhere (speaking of which, that girl should not be wearing a dress in that kind of environment).
Meh. I still don't like Inuyasha. Yet another show I feel is overrated. I mean, there's all the elements that make up a quality anime- music, animation, concept, characters- everything but the story itself. It just doesn't work for me. And it'll probably be years before it's even close to coming to an end. Sorry, not interested.
And once again, the English dub makes everything sound more cheesy than it should. How they pronounce the names just grates on my nerves. It's "Kikyo" not "Keekio"! *sigh* If only all dubs were as good as the one for Kino's Journey...
Here's an amusing quote from a promo for Detective Conan (*ahem* "Case Closed" -_-):
"So do you know the cause of death?"
"We're pretty sure it's the knife in his back, sir."
Wolf's Rain: AMAZING. Wolves have always been my favorite animal, but now I'm in love. I didn't know what the heck was going on in this episode, and there wasn't a lot of action, but it was still great.
The dub was pretty good. It served its purpose, anyway, and didn't sound unnatural. I think some blood was censored, though. I mean, Blue was bleeding but he had no wounds. O_o
Music by Yoko Kanno: GORGEOUS. Honestly, that woman is a genius.
In fact, everything was beautiful. I NEED MORE. The only thing keeping me from buying the DVDs right this second is that I've heard it gets really bad in the second half (unlike Witch Hunter Robin, which got better). So I'll just wait until I see the whole series on TV (thanks again, Amanda!).
I don't have any other opinions, because dad told me to go to bed. Of course, I didn't sleep until 2 in the morning anyway.
