So the 4th Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood OP, "Period" by CHEMISTRY, was played on a radio show.

I have to say this is another strong opening. It sounds really cool and catchy and I find it fun to sing. It has great potential to be another epic OP when put together with visuals. *_* Of course, what makes me really happy is that the lyrics were written for Ed & Al in this period (haha) of the story. And it fits!
And so, I tried transliterating it. The bolded words are parts I'm really not sure about.

And then I tried translating it, and oh my god. Things that sound like they make sense in Japanese seem incomprehensible when put in English ahaha. ^^; For one thing, I'm not sure what "period ni" is supposed to mean, so I just made a guess. Needless to say, you shouldn't take this translation as completely accurate. It's just for a very general understanding, and I'd appreciate any help in completing this.

Sooo I've pretty much spent the whole day doing nothing but shoveling snow and baking & decorating cookies. I was worried I wouldn't be able to make them this weekend since we were low on milk and hadn't bought any decorating materials before the storm hit, but I managed to get by with recipes that didn't require too much milk and making my own frosting.
I already posted some of these to the GL comm, but might as well post them all here.

OH MY GOD I love Ling's first song so much. Really catchy and the lyrics are perfect. *__* Best one so far!
His second song is good too, though slower.
Ran Fan's first song is okay. It feels kinda like the vocals are falling behind the instrumentals at times.
I like her second song a lot better, until it gets to the chorus, where the instrumentals are...odd. o_O
Overall, Ling's songs effectively capture both his light and serious sides. Ran Fan...to be honest, love her as I may, I don't think she has enough character depth for two whole songs. >_>; They're both about her devotion to Ling and aren't all that interesting IMO. I'd have rather had two songs from Mei. In fact, I hope Mei does get a song eventually, because I think it would have potential to be really fun and adorable.
Next time: Roy and Riza maybe?

I'd forgotten how much I loved this arc. ♥
Seriously, I was so disappointed when the episode ended. It felt too short. They did a pretty damn good job adapting this part though. I can't express how thrilled I am to see Briggs finally animated.

And MILES & BUCCANEER ♥ I'm even happy to see the background characters like Bobby and the automail mechanic and the doctor (I'm really curious about that photograph Olivier was looking at; that wasn't in the manga).
Man, I really need an Olivier icon.
EDIT: Screencaps! No shots of that photograph or the eyecatches (which I missed due to lag) yet; guess I'll have to download the RAW to see them.

So, "Golden Time Lover" is going to be the third OP to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I admit that when I first heard the title, I was skeptical whether it was even going to fit the show at all. But then the song was leaked on the internet, and I found it to be quite catchy. It grew on me with every listen. But the lyrics were kinda hard to understand just by listening, so I was still unsure whether it actually fit.
Then I found someone on Nicovideo had attempted to transliterate the lyrics. And upon reading it, I suddenly fell in love. The song is epic and perfect to the point that I already place it among my other favorites, "Again" and "Let it out." Good, fitting lyrics go a long way in making me appreciate a song; this is why I loved "Again" after hearing the whole thing, and why I'm not as impressed with "Hologram" even though it's really catchy and I love the animation.
I thought I'd try to translate it so other people can see why it's so perfect. Here's a link to the full song itself.
